Hello Staff (except Nyoom),

I am submitting an appeal for a 24-hour ban issued for Purp RDM x1 (First Offense)

I would like to clarify that the incident in question was not intentional. The shot that caused the RDM was entirely accidental, and there was no intent to target or harm another player besides comically blowing up an explosive barrel. This was also my first incident of this type, and I have been active on the server without prior issues during this session lasting around 2-3 hours (check the logs, i swear by them).

From my perspective, the situation involved confusion around positioning and timing, a poorly timed shot rather than deliberate RDM. I fully understand the seriousness of RDM rules and do not dispute the importance of enforcing them.

However;
  • The incident was accidental
  • It was a first offense
  • No malicious intent was present
  • Full day ban?
Additionally, during the interaction with staff, I felt that the conclusion about intent ("waiting before shooting") may have been reached without fully considering the possibility of accidental action or player-side confusion due to total negligence and a gung-ho-like posture when other mods are asleep. I respectfully request that this situation be reviewed to ensure the ruling accurately reflects the circumstances.

I'm fine owning mistakes, but I'm not fine being treated like something intentional when it wasn't. And I'm not trying to start drama, I just want this reviewed fairly. If possible, I'd appreciate having this looked at by another staff member to make sure the ruling matches the situation and not just a quick assumption.

Also, its worth putting this plainly, getting hit with a full-day ban over a single accidental moment isn't exactly encouraging for people trying to play and enjoy the server in their limited free time.

First and foremost, looking at the issue and having seen the death scene. Not a staff myself, but you waited for someone to pass that barrel. Don't know why you would shoot a barrel in a crowded hallway like that anyway.

Malicious? Can't determine that. Purposeful shooting a barrel in a populated hallway? Definitely.

to quote myself from the text i assume you didnt read, "there was no intent to target or harm another player besides comically blowing up an explosive barrel. " i misjudged the distance between the barrel and people, the issue isn't the fact that I got punished for it, that's fine and all, I just fail to understand how all of you aren't seeing the main point of my argument. A 24-hour ban is excessive for something like that, even if it was purposeful, hell, even 20 slays would be better than 24 FULL HOURS on a first strike.

i understand there isn't any intent to harm anyone but you shouldn't be shooting the barrel if people are nearby in the first place, also just because its a first strike doesn't warrant you from not being punished, granted you should be given some leeway because you're around level 30-60 but you have read the rules so you know you shouldn't be doing this in the first place

yes we ALL agree here that was i did was not right, im only addressing 1 issue and 1 issue only, but generally speaking i was in good standing with everyone and even apologized for the kill in the report message. I don't like being ostracized even after being on the server daily for 3-5 hours a day for the past month and not getting in trouble ONCE, and then this??? like not even a "hey dude whats up with that?" looks and sounds like lazy administrative work and that there are more willing and careful people there waiting for that position. not to mention nyoom already has negative marks on his administrative career.

wasnt purposeful, read my appeal :) its in English so its easy!

With this logic, then remove my purp rdm punishment and apply an accidental rdm punishment or an adjacent equivalent.

you may of apologized in the report message but they still kept it, its up to the reporter if they kept it or not, furthermore you haven't been on the server for more than a week (based upon when i see you) i log on everyday and i have never seen you this entire month except for this past week. you act like you're the only one to receive this treatment just because you're a low level but you fail to realize people get banned for this stuff all of the time and some of the time it isn't even low levels get off of your high horse and treat people normally.

no no no, the issue here is that i see these admins let their buddies slide all the time, and when people kill me, I RARELY see justice dished out.
